Dear Students and Families,
My name is Zacariah Graham and my passion is teaching and passing on my thirst for knowledge onto others. I enjoy challenging my world view and expanding upon it. I am truly excited to be able to teach your child and watch them grow!
My teaching philosophy is very simple: I believe that all kids have the ability to create, design and explore something new. My goal in teaching is not to teach the subject, but allow the students a chance to explore their life beliefs and explore what they enjoy and who they are as a person. Education is the best way to challenge yourself and to grow. My Journey to Teaching: I knew I wanted to start teaching when I was 16. By that time, I had some amazing teachers who helped fuel my passion for understanding the world around me and to push to find out who I was. At 18 I joined the Marine Corp and spent time at Camp Pendleton. The Marine Corp taught me a lot about who I was, and the type of leader that I am, and helped to develop my leadership skills more. I moved to Coeur D'Alene, Idaho afterwards, where I went to North Idaho College, where I started my educational career. I moved back to my hometown of Moscow, Idaho, where I finished school at the University of Idaho and got my degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Social Sciences and Political Science. I taught at Emmonak School for 7/8 English/Social Studies for my first teaching year. After coming back down stateside, I was fortunate enough to find a job at Summit Parkway Middle School, in Columbia, South Carolina, where I teach 7th History. I am thrilled at where I am at and hope to continue my educational career learning as much as possible. |
